June 19, 2008 Regular Meeting: The regular monthly meeting of the Mississippi Valley Firefighters Association was held at the Geneseo Fire Department on June 19, 2008. The meeting was called to order by President Dave Liebovitz at 6:33P.M. The Pledge of Allegiance and then roll call was done. Roll call showed 11 members from 8 departments were present. The meeting broke for everyone to eat . The meeting reconvened at 7:03 P.M. A moment of silence was observed for fallen firefighters, then the minutes of the last meeting were read, motioned to accept, voted on and accepted. The treasure's report was read. The checking account balance was $140.57 and the savings account balance was $3649.50. Motion to accept treasures report was made, voted on, and passed. An Honorary Membership clause that was discussed at the previous meeting needs to be sent out to all departments for discussion. Mike Swanson made a motion to take a vote on the change by e-mail and tabulate by next meeting. Scott Lodge seconded the motion and it was voted on and passed. The secretary will send out by e- mail and then tabulate votes before the next meeting. The ethanol classes that IFSI has come up with will not be ready for classroom until after Labor Day. They do not have instructors or materials ready yet. Scott Lodge talked about problems with the state chief’s license plates. No new info on search and rescue class on September 13 & 14. Mike Swanson talked about the Fire Chiefs meetings that are held on the off months from our board meetings. Communications: Sept 20 Golf Outing Aledo Dave Liebovitz said thank you to the Geneseo Fire Department for hosting the meeting at their station. Next meeting will be at Alexis Fire Equipment in Alexis on July17, 2008. Board meeting at 6:00 PM, general membership meeting starting at 6:30 PM. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 PM.
